October 2013

Bonjour,
the first two weeks of French have gone well. I've enjoyed getting to know your sons and daughters. The past few weeks we have worked on greetings, colors, and numbers. Last Thursday your child came home with instructions and patterns to make a color-bingo game. This week we are starting to work on the verb "etre" which means "to be" as well as some adjectives. Our focus is on describing ourselves.
Merci
Elizabeth

Welcome Our 2013 - 2014 French Instructor, Elizabeth Carroll!

Chers parents,

Bonjour! I wanted to introduce myself to you. My name is Elizabeth Carroll and I will be teaching French in the Hoover World Languages Program 2013-2014. I am currently a doctoral candidate in the Department of French at the University of Iowa. I began learning French in elementary school in a program much like Hoover’s. I studied French throughout high school and college and have travelled to France many times for fun and for school. I primarily teach college students but I have taught high school and in 2010 I taught French in the Hoover World Languages Program. I am looking forward to meeting your children on October 21st and introducing them to the exciting world of French language and culture. If you have any questions or need to contact me for any reason, please email me: elizabeth-carroll@uiowa.edu

Merci!
Elizabeth Carroll
